Green Fire Wood and Plant Waste
For efficient plant operation the wood will be cut or shredded into small pieces. With the two-stage thermal decomposition process we can control the temperature and environment of the first stage of reaction to get the best oil conversion rate. Then we activate the carbon black and improve the quality of carbon black with very high temperature and steam in the second stage of the process. The fuel-oil from an Green Fire system is of high quality with a density of about 0.88~0.9 kg/l. The converting rate is about 8%~20% depend on the wood type. For example, the conversion rate of pine wood waste is about 12%~14%. From wood based feedstock, the following by-products will be produced:
- Essential Oil: 1%~1.5%
- Bio-Oil: 12%~15%
- High value organic carbon product
- Plant water essence
The re-condensed water is referred to as a hydrosol, hydrolith, herbal distillate or plant water essence, which may be sold as another fragrant product. Popular hydrosols include rose water, lavender water, pine, lemon balm, clay sage and orange blossom water. The use of natural organic herbal distillates in cosmetics is increasing and, due to the reluctance to use alcohol based or synthetic products by many in today’s society, it is becoming very popular.
There are some plant hydrosols that have unpleasant smells and are therefore not sold but there are many others that are used as natural insecticides and as medicinal and health products.
To produce the essential oil, the Green Fire system works like a distillation system and depending on the quality of the essential oil required; the Green Fire System can be used. Or, if very high quality, high value oil is the preferred by-product, Green Fire can supply a specially configured model specifically for that purpose.
